Our Vision

At L3C we believe, legacy but still critical, AIX, Unix and IBM i workloads should become integral parts of cloud transformation. 

We design, build and migrate AIX and IBM i workloads to Skytap on Azure (AIX and IBM i on Azure), IBM Cloud / IBM PowerVS or private, dedicated infrastructure within L3C Cloud. 

We aim to bring our expertise in migrating legacy AIX with Oracle databases to Skytap on Azure and IBM PowerVS cloud, working with our partners and clients by performing a niche but critical element in your cloud transformation initiative. We build and migrate environments to Skytap on Azure (AIX and IBM i on Azure), private, dedicated infrastructure within L3C Cloud and also to  IBM Cloud / IBM PowerVS. We solve skills issues with our cloud managed services ensuring you remain cost effectively supported. 

We are an independent UK company, enabling us to be a partner to you and recommend the optimal approach rather than be influenced by any vendor or cloud provider.

Lubo Cheytanov
Chairman of the Board

Lubo established L3C to fill a gap in the UK market by providing private cloud environments for critical Unix applications. As L3C migrated more and more complex environments, L3C developed an expert capability in migrating Unix workloads to the major public cloud platforms. Prior to setting up L3C, Lubo held executive roles in IBM Europe and IBM UK, including rebuilding IBM’s mid-market business and is a dual British and Bulgarian citizen.

CEO

Jerry engages directly with our clients to ensure L3C is a client focused organisation anticipating needs and understanding your challenges first hand. After many years in IBM Global Services, growing Cloud and setting up IBM’s MSP/CSP business he joined L3C to be at the heart of a new vision and approach. Prior to lockdown Jerry was a regular speaker at industry events.

CTO

Ivo runs our operations team and leads our more complex implementations for our clients. He has experience across multiple technologies and has successfully led many cloud migrations and deployments across multiple industries.

Our Story

Formed in 2013 with 1 employee and no client base we have grown to a cloud service provider at the forefront of:

  • Building and Migrating AIX, IBM i and Linux/Windows workloads to Skytap on Azure and providing managed services for the cloud environment
  • Providing unique tooling to integrate AIX and IBM i system monitoring into Azure Monitor as well as older versions of Linux and Windows
  • Providing T3/T4 hosted infrastructure for legacy SPARC environments.

We support clients directly as well as many of the world’s leading system integrators and outsourcing companies fulfilling a critical role in migrating legacy AIX/IBM i workloads to cloud and providing an ongoing cloud managed service where required. Our own L3C cloud infrastructure provides software vendors and providers access to multiple AIX OS versions enabling cost effective test and development platforms.

IBM has been focusing on taking a central place in the Artificial Intelligence industry for years. As most of us know, AI is one of IBM’s strategic technology directives, along with Quantum computing and Blockchain. Ginni Rometty, Chairman, President, and CEO of IBM has been betting IBM’s future on AI for a few years now performing one of the most radical transformations in the history of the industry.

As part of its heavy investment in the artificial intelligence field, IBM announced the creation of a global research hub for AI hardware development and nanotechnology researches.

As shared by Governor Andrew M. Cuomo, New Yorks’ SUNY Polytechnic Institute plays a central role in this technology investment accumulating the main part of the $2.0 bln investment along with a few other areas in New York.

The IBM Research AI Hardware Center is how it will be named and will push development of AI-optimized hardware together with partners like Samsung, Mellanox, Synopsys, Applied Materials and Tokyo Electron Limited (TEL).

IBM has been focusing on working with partners on this topic for years now as AI and deep and machine learning has been deemed to be heavily influenced by open source solutions from its start.

The investment is part of IBM’s strategy to bet on its two core development breakthroughs over the last few years – its Digital AI cores and its Analog AI cores.  A bit more on Digital AI cores and Analog AI cores you can read in our blog. According to the company, those two approaches have the potential to lead to  1,000x AI performance efficiency improvement over the next decade as shown on the Figure.
