L3C at the GDPR IT Leaders Forum in Manchester
L3C were recently invited to showcase our services at a GDPR IT Leaders Forum in Manchester, sponsored by IBM. During a very interesting set of presentations by the guest speakers it became clear that many of the audience had concerns around mobile devices and mobile apps including the separation of personal and corporate data. The question of legacy ERP systems and applications also arose and how local cloud service providers could assist in re-architecting environments, helping to clarify access rights, ensuring patching and security regimes are implemented or even ‘fencing-off’ legacy environments in a hosted environment while they are eventually sunset.
Jerry Crossfield and Ian Dennis of L3C were able to discuss with many of the attendees how L3C Enterprise Mobility Management service based around IBM’s MaaS360 solution could address the concerns around mobile device and application management. While our specialisation in hosting AIX and Unix based applications combined with our DBA skills around Oracle and Progress struck a chord with many of the IT Leaders concerned about effectively managing heritage solutions.
